*When serving warm foods, warm the plates or platters in the oven.

*To keep egg yolks from crumbling when slicing hard boiled eggs, wet the
knife before each cut.

*To prevent crust from becoming soggy with cream pie, sprinkle crust with powdered sugar.

*When freezing stews or soups omit the potatoes.

*If gravy is greasy add a little baking soda.

*Preheat baking sheet or dish for at least 5 minutes before using.

*A cake is done when it shrinks slightly from the sides of the pan and springs back when lightly touched.

*Kneading dough for a half minute after mixing improves the texture of baking powder biscuits.

*Set eggs in pan of warm water before using to release all white from shell.

*Always add a little sugar when cooking tomatoes to bring out the flavor.

*To remove corn silk, dampen a paper towel and brush downward on the cob of corn.  Every strand should come off.

*Use your blender for making fresh bread crumbs.  Add a small bit of cheese for topping veggies or  casseroles.
