Wisdom the Principle Thing
What's important to you? Today's "ListenUp!" deals with an overlooked
character trait that can not afford to be overlooked anymore. WISDOM.
Wisdom is the Principal thing therefore get wisdom: and with all thy
getting get understanding. Proverbs 4:7
According to Solomon, David, his father, made sure that he understood
this principle.
Wisdom from God is very vital in the days we are living. The time is
crucial and our adversary's time is short. He is very cunning, eagerly
desiring to take advantage of our ignorance. Whether we are making
purchases from the grocery store, choosing a mate, being a parent, or
just functioning on our job, we need the wisdom of God.
The gain from wisdom is better than of silver, gold, and rubies.
Nothing is to be compared to godly wisdom (Proverbs. 3:13-15).
Wisdom is the chiefest, most important thing you need, ... not money,
houses and cars. Isn't it strange how we pray for everything else
except for the most important thing?
What is godly wisdom? Godly wisdom is the ability from God to discern
and see into a situation. Being able to make sound judgments based on
the "knowing" on the inside. Many relate this inner knowing to their
"gut feeling," or the inner voice. Many women believe that they have
"women's intuition." Many may believe that women are more in tune their
inner feelings and emotions while men are more apt to move on logic or
reason. My purpose is not to debate that belief but to bring out a
profound truth.
Wisdom from God does not initially come to your mind. Proverbs 2:10
states, "When wisdom entereth thine heart, ... " Therefore, the sound
insight comes first to your spirit where God resides. Your decision
making should stem from your heart, not your mind. What is your heart
telling you?
